“The Sphere of the Lycanthrope”: The Only 2 Time Best Picture Award Winner Internationally of 2009
Signed by David Stay!
The Sphere of the Lycanthrope, a film that is becoming a cult classic which it set out to be, has been recognized as the only film to win 2 Best Picture awards in 2 film festivals internationally in 2009. Back to back no less!
The Sphere of the Lycanthrope, a family friendly horror film18 years in the making, stunned the competition not only being the recipient of 2 Best Horror feature film awards, but also nominated in 3 other categories including Best Actor – David Stay, Best Special Effects and Best Costume Design. It has also created a buzz among film fans because the movie is “widely entertaining.” It is proving to be as entertaining with the added kick of scary thrills! Such a successful result on such a modest budget is a rarity these days. One online review states: So unimaginable is the fact that it’s beating out films that cost insane money to produce. The real shame would have been if this film was never completed. It gives hope to all filmmakers that talent still can produce amazing results with dedication to the art.
“The Sphere of the Lycanthrope,” is also being compared to films such as “Zombieland” for its action/comedy attributes, and “Paranormal Activity” for its ultra low budget. Described by Director David Stay and co-producer Keith Grening also Director of Photography as a “Thrillomody,” the film was produced for nearly the same budget as “Paranormal Activity,” although The SOTL employed over one hundred actors and was shot in over six different locations including Italy. The producers will continue in 2010 to “Wow” audiences at independent film festivals all over the world and are currently seeking backers for the sequel, “THE SPHERE of ANTONDIOQUAZGAA,” (a sphere forbidden to speak) and a movie that is guaranteed to kick your ass harder.
In short, it has been a huge year for producers David Stay, Keith Grening and Ford Austin. “The Sphere of the Lycanthrope,” has become more of a cult hit than anyone could have imagined.
